It's Easter, Meester!...

It is 12:14 AM on April 12, 2009. That means, Meester...It is Easter!!

I am currently planted comfortably on my Grandparents couch in Grand Junction, Colorado. Grand Junction (GJ) means Holidays to me. For all of my existance, I have spent all major holidays here with family. My mom grew up here and most of the family, including aunts, uncles, cousins etc. live here now. When I first decided to go to SUU, we thought that GJ would be a good halfway meeting point between Denver and Cedar. But you see, Christmas of freshman year we found out the truth. My side of the drive is a good two hours longer. Still GJ means family, celebration, and relaxation.

I arrived here in GJ sometime around 8pm on Friday Night...I was greeted in the driveway with My mama and My grandma eager for hugs. Nothing better than good hugs after a long time away from home...

As soon as I was in the door, My grandma, bless her heart, informed me that "the Easter Bunny Came!" Now in my family, things like Christmas Presents and Easter Baskets are often impatiently given early, simply out of excitement...My mom and Grandma are queens of this anticipation. So i walked into the guest bedroom that I would be sleeping in and found this:

Yes. The tag says "I am Ash's Easter Basket".

The basket is that really nifty pasta cooker thing that I know you have seen on those infomercials...

In said basket was all of the following:

  • About 90000 lbs of candy...including the ever coveted Cadburry MiniEggs.
  • 2 bottles of Gummy Vitamins...my fave.
  • Toothbrush
  • Subway Gift card...oh how she knows me.
  • A pen that smells like Jelly Beans.
    A Ward Cookbook.

How blessed. How I love the thought that goes into what she put in my "basket".

What was even better, was when I walked into the room that my mom sleeps in...I found this:

Yes. This tag says " I am LeAnne's Easter Basket"

Hers was a big measuring/mixing bowl. Papa said it is "the bowl to make waffle batter in".

I believe him.

Tonight was filled with family, food and goof conversation. What more could a girl ask for. I am so thankful that I can spend this time with family and celebrate the resurrection of Christ...with Deviled Eggs and Chocolate Bunnies...of course!

Although the bunnies and the deviled eggs are essential too...Let us all remember the True meaning of Easter.

This should help.

Have an amazing Easter and Happy Spring!
